The Horseshoes Inn Berriew Welcomes Pet Dogs

When Angelo and Kathy stayed at Copper Lodge near Welshpool and Newtown in Powys they enjoyed a good meal with friends in the family and pet friendly Horseshoes Inn, Berriew. The atmosphere was warm and friendly with a roaring log fire in the hearth. There is a children's play area too. The Montgomery Canal runs along behind the pub perfect for taking a stroll with your dog after a good lunch.

The Lamb and Flag Inn Rhayader Welcomes Pet Dogs

Just 1/2 mile from the Kite Feeding Station at Gigrin Farm, Kathy and Angelo recommend The Lamb and Flag Inn at Rhayader which serves good homemade food prepared using local ingredients including lamb from the Elan Valley, Black Welsh beef and locally grown (mostly organic) vegetables. Eat in the bar with your dog at your feet, there is a cosy open fire for cold days or in the retaurant (sorry no dogs here).

Friends at Porth Dinllaen

These two were spotted running in and out of the water at Porth Dinllaen last weekend, one of them was on holiday from Fife in Scotland, he was having a fine time staying at Bodnitho holiday house on the Lleyn. We were all sat on the wall outside the Ty Coch Inn the sunshine watching them.

An inspirational 7 mile walk through the scenic Vrynwy Valley

So called because Welsh poet and hymn writer Ann Griffiths (1776-1805) often walked this way and is believed to have been inspired to write some of her greatest works on route. The path follows the beautiful and turbulent waters of the Vrynwy, passes through sheep pastures, over styles, fords streams, lingers at a riverside picnic area, squeezes through rocky constrictions, peeps at ancient dwellings including Ann's old home and revels in spectacular scenery. Your pet dog is welcome but must be kept on a lead in order to protect farm animals.

Copper Lodge Pets Welcome

Approached via a medieval ford Copper Lodge seems to grow out of the rolling green hills that surround it. Overlooking breathtaking Rhiew Valley this converted medieval barn really is a sanctuary for rest and relaxation. (click on the name for full dertails)
Take your dogs and walk to your hearts content.
Jasper & JJ loved it.
